It’s the end of the season awards! Who wins? Who loses? Who cares?
Josh leapfrogged Jennifer and Rachel in the last week of the season to claim the accuracy title.
If we count all Did Not Submit picks against accuracy, Cari still ranks 26th of 28 in accuracy.
Laci’s unorthodox method of picking games means that she will likely retire as the all time leader in this category.
She’ll probably retire as the all time leader in this category as well.
Players that chose 42 for Monday Madness saw that hit ONCE this season.
Overall, this was a down year for AYST ESPN badges in total.
Michael’s pick accuracy matched two division winners and a Wild Card team (Adam, Kevin, Ethan) and bested another Wild Card team (Joel), yet Michael finished last in his division at 5-9.
Joel finished t-14th in the league in accuracy, the lowest of all winning teams by one pick.
Brent lost 4 of those 6 Monday Madness tiebreakers.
Steven gets the nod over Brent, who also lost 4 tiebreakers, because Steven went 0-4 in OT this year.
Only includes skill or luck based badges.
Ryan gets the nod over Jason (also with 14) by having more total badges earned this year.
Steven collected one Gold, eight Silver, and one Bronze medal. His 10 medals tied him with Michael and Ryan, behind Jennifer, Brent, and LeScoot’s 11 medals.
Michael had 6 or more correct picks in 10 of the 14 regular season match-ups. He’s the only double-digit Quality Weeks Medals earner to not make the playoffs.
Now, typically this award goes to the best record in the league with the best accuracy as a tiebreaker. This season, it’s going to a Division Runner-Up with the t-6th best record and the second best accuracy.
Why?
Simple. Jennifer had an astounding 11 Quality Weeks this season and spent much of the season as #1 in Pick Accuracy. While she finished at 8-6 on the year, it wasn’t because of poor play, but because of bad luck. In Week 8, for example, she finished 9-1 on picks and still lost!
Jennifer edged out the other finalists by having more quality weeks, higher pick accuracy, a better record, or some combination of the three. It was a close call.
OTHER FINALISTS: Josh, Steven, Rachel, Kevin, LeScoot
