2018 NPL Season Awards!

It’s over! The 2018 regular season has come to a close! That means, like all industries, we get to put on our black ties, evening gowns, roll out the red carpet, and pat each other on the back for nominating and selecting ourselves for awards! Isn’t it fun? Here we go, folks!


2018 NPL Awards
The WILLIAM TELL Award
Given to the Most Accurate Player

Jason (JeStErS)62.1%

Jason and Kelly tied for the best accuracy, so both players will see the award on their page. Jason gets the slight edge on the awards presentation, with a better average MM difference.

The HELEN KELLER Award
Given to the Least Accurate Player

Vince (Vapulaters)43.3%

The OUT ON A LIMB Award
Given to the player with the most Lonesome Loser awards

LeScoot (LeScavengers)2

Andrew and Laci also had 2 LL’s each – award goes to Scott because Laci needed to be dethroned

The HATE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO Award
Given to the player with the most Solo Soothsayer Awards

DaVena (Ballerinas)2

The MAD WORLD Award
Given to the player with the most Monday Madness awards

Laci (Labeorphiles)3

The I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY GET PAID FOR THIS Award
Given to the player with the most “Are You Smarter Than ESPN?” Awards

Josh (Javelineers)7

Scott and Jason also tallied 7 AYST awards this year

The JAY-Z Award
It’s a hard-knock life. Given to the player with the highest accuracy with a losing record

Adam (Bombs)5-9, 57.1%

The KARDASHIAN Award
Success without any measurable skills. Given to the player with the lowest accuracy and a winning record

DaVena (Ballerinas)11-3, 55.7%

Despite the 9-0 start to the year, DaVena still finished with the lowest accuracy of any team over .500

The HONEY, I’M WORKING LATE AT THE OFFICE Award
Given to the player with the most games decided by the Monday Madness Tiebreaker

Miranda (Martians)5

Rachel also ended with 5 games decided by the MM Tiebreaker – Miranda gets the nod with more MM wins

The IMP Award
More dangerous than they look. Given to the player that has lost the most Monday Madness tiebreakers.

Andrew (Androids)3

Rachel also lost 3 games by MM Tiebreaker – Andrew gets the award by losing 75% of his MM tiebreakers (compared to Rachel’s 60% loss rate)

The WILDERNESS GIRLS Award
Given to the player that has collected the most unique badges.

Jason (JeStErS)31

This award only counts badges that can be collected through luck or skill.

The GOLDEN ROCK LOBSTER Award
Awarded for the worst performance when facing the the worst player

Lauren (Lychnobites)

Vince had three wins on the season. Lauren was two of those three.

The I LOVE GOOOOOLD Award
Given to the player with the most Quality Week points

Jason (JeStErS)18 pts

Quality Week Points are rewarded for finishing with 6 correct (1 point), 7 or 8 correct (2 points), or 9 or 10 correct (3 points) in a week

The LOSERS BRACKET Award
Given to the player that really should have a much better record

Andrew (Androids)6-8

Andrew missed the playoffs with a 6-8 record despite finishing 9th in accuracy and t-6th in Quality Week points

2018 Player of the Year

Kelly (Zeros)

After starting 0-2, Kelly rattled off 12 straight W’s to close out the season, ending with the best record in the league (12-2) and the highest pick accuracy (62.1%)!
